Beyond the screen: How @yuttiieee unearths Goa’s culture while building her digital niche

Balancing a full-time job while building a unique digital space, Yutika Zambaulikar (@yuttiieee) is among Goa’s emerging content creators. From reviewing beauty products to sharing stories about Goa’s temples and promoting fitness, she has created a niche rooted in authenticity and passion.

The start

I have always had an interest in doing something with the camera since childhood. I began content creation by sharing simple dance reels, fashion posts, and random videos I recorded, and over time, I built a decent following even before the pandemic.

During the pandemic, I started getting offers to review beauty brands. That’s when I began making review videos and posting them online, and I would say that is how my current social media journey began. Slowly, I started focusing on beauty while also thinking about what else I could share. I was focusing on fitness at that time too, so that naturally became part of my content. Eventually, I began exploring travel, food experiences, fashion, and beauty. As my audience grew, I started getting various brand deals, which helped me continue expanding the types of content I was creating.

Managing time

One thing about content creation is that the schedule is never really free. I balance a full-time job alongside this, so there are hardly any days when I have nothing to do. In my free time, I create content that is interesting for my audience and share things they may not know about. Other days, I work on content for brand collaborations, so there is no real “free day” as such.

I usually shoot over the weekends, doing all the shoots needed for the upcoming week. Throughout the week, I edit the photos and videos so that they can be posted on time. Weekends are quite busy with work, and sometimes I sacrifice sleep to complete projects so I don’t miss deadlines or run out of content for the week. These are normal things you do when you are into content creation, and managing time becomes a challenge sometimes, but I keep going because I genuinely enjoy doing this.

Niche of passion

Although I am into various categories, I feel most passionate about sharing stories related to Goa’s culture, specifically stories about Goa’s temples. I feel there is so much to explore in that area, and many people are not aware of these stories, traditions, and cultural practices.

In fact, even in my early days of content creation, I began by focusing on these stories, and I think I was one of the first to bring out a video on such topics. I not only observe the traditions at the temples but also take part in them. Of all the things I do, covering the cultural aspects of Goa is the most enjoyable for me, and my followers also appreciate this content. I want to keep exploring and bringing out the lesser-known aspects of Goa, not only for locals but also for tourists.

On growing competition

I don’t see others as competition because I feel this sector is more collaborative. Everyone has their own unique style and way of presenting or shooting content, and audiences can easily differentiate between creators.

I also feel that your niche plays a role in this. I focus on my niche and come up with unique content about Goa’s culture and temples, and that is what makes us unique and helps us avoid feeling like we are in competition with others.

Future plans

I would like to explore acting further, which I have been pursuing for the past six years. I don’t share much about it on social media as it is something I have kept personal. I mostly act in dramas staged in villages, and I want to continue with that.

At the same time, I want to continue my content journey, creating content on Goa and its culture. I would also like to explore the fitness niche further, as there is much more I can share in that area, and I have been getting encouragement from my followers to explore it.

Advice to others

If you are into content creation, no matter what the circumstances are, be honest. Your audience trusts your word, and if they ever feel you have been dishonest or not fully truthful, it will affect your brand value. It is always better to be truthful.
