In a small village in Goa, one young woman is proving that passion can fit into even the busiest routines. Between long shifts in the medical field and daily life, Naina Fondekar still finds time to create content that connects with thousands.
How it began
I started my journey in 2023. I didn't have many followers, but I always liked to explore new places and was very fond of clicking pictures and videos at different locations.
I began by posting travel videos. I would highlight lesser-known places in Goa. These videos and pictures received a very good response, and that gave me the confidence to continue. Soon after, I started getting invites from restaurants. Over time, I moved into different types of content — some because brands requested it, and some because I personally enjoyed creating it.
Challenges
The biggest challenge I face is time management. I have a full-time job, and I create content in my free time. I always make sure that my content creation does not interfere with my main job.
I usually plan and shoot 4–5 videos during the weekend. Then, I edit and post them through the week. I follow the same routine for brand collaborations as well. At the moment, I only take up shoots in North Goa because it is easier for me to travel. Going to South Goa takes more time, so I avoid it unless I am traveling there personally.
Family support
When I told my family that I'm doing content creation, they were very supportive, and they started to give their suggestions too. My family has always encouraged me and helped me along the way.
Exploring different categories
I first started with travel content. Then, after getting brand collaborations, I also began making food-related content. Later, I moved into fashion and beauty as well.
The main thing is that I simply love making videos. I enjoy scripting, shooting, editing, and presenting content to my audience. For me, the category does not matter — what matters is creating something meaningful and enjoyable. I am open to exploring more categories in the future, too.
On growing competition
I don’t feel there is competition. Most content creators and influencers I have spoken to are supportive and willing to guide others. Social media gives everyone a chance to showcase their talent. Everyone gets an equal platform — what matters is how you use it.
Advice to others
When you start, don’t focus too much on followers or likes. First, focus on creating the kind of content you genuinely enjoy. Share it consistently. Understand how your audience responds. Over time, if you keep posting regularly, your followers will grow. Do not get discouraged by numbers in the beginning. The quality of your content should be your first priority.
