For the first time Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts is holding Artist-in-Residence Lab (AIR-L) with their first resident artist Maksud Ali Mondal who will be presenting Garden of Heterotopia: a conversation in nature, a biological experiment from February 7-12 from 10 am to 7 pm. Mondal’s practice includes facilitating an experiential understanding of organisms in a durational, constructed microcosm, using sculpture, painting, drawing, installation and photography.The original maze assembled with processed wood, metal and glass is now inhabited by live organisms and detritus. The work encourages new reflections on how we understand ourselves and other species as well as our place in the transformed environment. During this week, a special walkthrough and discussion will be open from 12 February 2022 at 6 pm with the artist.
