In the memory of veteran Goan theatre personality late Dattaram Volvaikar, the Samraat Club International (SCI) State 1 will be celebrating a theatre festival - Master Dattaram Volvaikar Smruti Natyamahotsav from February 17 to 25. Announcing this at Ponda, the Natyamahotsav committee’s president Shailesh Borkar, said that during this week-long festival the 25 Samraat Clubs across Goa will be staging 25 dramas at 25 venues from February 17-25.
On this occasion, Pandurang Gaonkar, chairman of the newly appointed Silver Jubilee Organising Committee announced special attractive prizes for the clubs. Also, a photo frame of late Master Dattaram Volvaikar will be handed over to all 25 clubs. The inauguration ceremony will be organised by Samraat Club Madkai. President Dinesh Valvaikar said that three plays will be presented. Samraat club Sankhlim secretary informed that Valedictory function of the Natyamahotsav will be held on February 25 at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhlim.
