The Fr Jacome Gonsalves Day was recently celebrated by the Piedade Parish in Divar. In the morning, two Masses were celebrated in the Piedade Parish. In his homily, Parish Priest Fr Simao Rodrigues explained the life of Fr Jacome Gonsalves, the works and writings in different languages, to parishioners of Piedade Parish. He also advised parishioners, especially the youth, to follow in the footsteps of Fr Jacome and to pray for his sainthood. In the evening, a cultural programme along with the poster, drawing and essay competition was held in the Fr Jacome Gonsalves hall. Fr Rodrigues congratulated the winners of the various competitions. Meanwhile, the Our Lady of Divar High school at Divar recently celebrated Vanmohatsav in the school. The school manager Fr Simao Rodrigues spoke on the importance of planting trees and said that "living with nature" leads to living a healthy life.
