MARGAO: All Smiles Dental Clinic, led by Dr Kiara Almeida, held a free dental check-up camp at the Varca Sports Complex Hall on Wednesday. The event was organised in partnership with youth leader Warren Alemao, the Indian Academy of Sports Dentistry (IASD), and Krida Danta Suraksha.
Chief Guest Dr Reena Kumar, Academic Director of IASD and ICanCare and Executive Board Member of the European Association of Sports Dentistry, spoke at the event. She highlighted the strong connection between oral health and better sports performance, encouraging young athletes and their parents to take dental care seriously.
More than 250 children were given free dental check-ups by a dedicated team led by Dr Kiara Almeida – a well-known dentist, expert in healthcare management, and creator of Dr Kiara’s Instant Hand Sanitizer. She shared her vision of setting up Goa’s first Sports Dentistry Centre to better link oral health with athletic wellbeing.
Warren said the goal of the camp went beyond dental care. “This initiative wasn’t just about dental check-ups, it was about showing every child that their health matters,” he said. “A day of care, smiles and inspiration that truly touched hearts,” he added.
