Governor and CM extend Independence Day greetings

The Governor of Goa PS Sreedharan Pillai has conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the joyous occasion of India's 75th Independence Day.  In his message, the Governor said, "On this day we remember with gratitude all the great men and women who fought for the freedom of India under the towering leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.  Today we bow our heads in reverence to all the valorous souls who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from colonial rule.”  Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also greeted the people of the state on 75th Independence Day as citizens celebrate Amrit Mahotsav of their independence. The Chief Minister in his message has said, ‘My dear Goans, I convey my best wishes to all of you on this auspicious occasion of ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ of Independence Day. I offer my sincere gratitude, profound respect and humble homage to the founding fathers of our Nation and to all those who sweated hard and sacrificed their lives for a free and democratic India. Let us emulate their bravery and courage as we march on together as a nation’.
