Karigar Bazaar: Art, crafts from   20 States on display at Panaji

An initiative by Delhi based organisation ‘Craft & Artisan Revival’ the Karigar Bazaar Goa edition 2025 was inaugurated at the hands of Shashin Rai, deputy director of Doordarshan Goa (News) and his wife, Rajshri at Panaji Convention Centre, Mala on November 14 and it will be open for the public from 11 am to 8 pm till November 22. Around 80 rural artisans from 20 different States displaying their art and craft products. The products displayed vary from bangles to bed sheets, jewellery, traditional paintings like Madhubani, vegetable dyed fabrics, natural and eco-friendly crafts like hand-woven baskets, hand-woven khadi cloth material, jewellery, wooden home décor, lampshades, leather footwear, designer handbags, sarees and salwar suits, puppets, hand painted pottery, colourful wooden craft, teak wood chess boards, mother pearl trays and jewellery, batik print, cotton kids-wear, traditional tribal and folk art, grass baskets, neem kitchen appliances, carved wooden artefacts etc. There are popular weaves from different States including Benarasi, Chanderi, Maheshwari, Ajrakh sarees and material, apart from embroidery art like Chikankari, Phulkari, Kantha, Zardozi on fabric and tribal art like Madhubani, Gond, Pattachitra, Pichwai and Warli on cloth, paper and wood. The clay art, terracotta creations, Meenakari, Mother Pearl, Kundan, Lakh, wood and metal jewellery, brassware, quilts towels, incense, organic teas, chaats, pickles, papads, snacks, chivda, khakhra are also on display.
