PANAJI: The upcoming Pilerne Thursday Heritage Market will celebrate ‘The Night of Carols’. The Cheeky Doughnuts band will take the stage, setting the tone for a joyful night. A Carol Karaoke Competition, featuring the beloved carol ‘O Holy Night’, is open to all age groups. Adding to the festive cheer, the parishioners of Pilerne will lead a cake-mixing ceremony, inviting everyone to share in the joy of the season. The market will once again bustle with games, stalls, Goan delicacies, pickles, candles, art, bakery treats, drinks and Christmas décor — alongside live music to keep the Christmas spirit alive. Meanwhile, Pilerne came alive last Thursday with a heart-warming celebration that drew families, friends and visitors together. The evening opened with a special felicitation ceremony honouring Director of the Vatican Observatory Fr Richard D’Souza, a proud son of Pilerne. The night carried on with a nostalgic touch as the legendary Agnelo Fernandes live band filled the air with timeless Konkani classics.
