Known for setting up the ambience for doing the best research on disease and diagnostics and bringing a large number of mission mode projects and fast-track projects for immediate translatable products for India, Professor Samit Chattopadhyay of BITS Pilani Goa has been nominated as the Chair of the board of governors of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur, Bihar. The Board of Governors of NIPER is constituted with the ascent of the President of India, who is Visitor of the Institute, for a term of three years. NIPER, an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, ministry of chemicals and fertilisers, the government of India under the NIPER Act 1998 is at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar. A centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences, conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas.
