PANAJI: The Higher Secondary School Librarians Association of Goa (HISSLAG) organised a felicitation ceremony on 8 June at Ravindra Bhavan Conference Hall, Sanquelim, to honour retired librarians for their dedicated service. Around 50 librarians from across Goa attended the event, which was held from 10 am to 1.30 pm. Sulakshana Sawant, wife of the chief minister, was the chief guest. In her address, she encouraged librarians to embrace AI tools and technology, foster reading habits among students, and share knowledge post-retirement.
Seven serving and six retired members of the association were felicitated for their contributions. The programme included cultural performances and speeches by association members. HISSLAG founder president Sadanand Ishwar Naik emphasised the need for continued learning and tradition. The event began with the lighting of the lamp and concluded with a vote of thanks by Pallavi Marathe. Nasima Khan compered the programme.
