The St Francis School, Duler, Mapusa recently celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan at its school premises. On the occasion of the festival, importance of Raksha Bandhan was highlighted and a mention was made to how the festival of Raksha Bandhan aligns with the brotherhood goals of the Franciscan Brothers.
Explaining the diversity of India, Principal Bro Edmund Lemos focused on the significance of brothers and sisters bond, their promise to stay together and to protect, care and respect each other. He said St Francis School looks forward to celebrate many such festivals to uphold the diversity of Indian Culture. The festival was celebrated where in the teaching and non-teaching female staff members tied Rakhis to all the brothers present at the occasion. Besides the principal, Manager Bro Michael D’Cunha, visiting dignitary General Councilor Bro Wilfred, Manager St Anthony’s High School Bro John Pereira and all the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff were present for the celebration.
