Goan companies linked to the technology and fisheries sectors explored trade and collaboration opportunities at the coastal town of Agder in Norway at the Egder-India Business seminar at Agder in Norway. At the seminar, the Goa delegation was led by state Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar, Dr Shamila Monteiro, director of Fisheries, Judah Fernandez, co-founder, Kilowott and Miguel Rodrigues, managing director, Joecons. The officials from the fisheries department as well as fishing industry stakeholders discussed ways and means to increase Goa’s marine yield through the use of technology. The Porvorim-based tech company Kilowott, which also has offices in Norway, participated in the seminar and was represented by its co-founder Judah Fernandez, at the invitation of the Norway-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Goan companies which were a part of the state delegation were scouting for equipment, technology and advanced knowhow – aspects which Norway excels in – to significantly improve Goa’s marine yield,” acknowledged Judah Fernandez.
