PANAJI: The Research, Ethics and Development Cell of Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira, organised a Project Report Orientation Programme for Third Year B.Com students on September 12.
The session was conducted by Prof. Savio Falleiro, Managing Director of the Goa State Research Foundation, Porvorim. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Principal Prof. Manoj S. Kamat. On the occasion, a 30-hour Certificate Course in Research Methodology was also launched by the resource person.
In his three-hour session, Prof. Falleiro guided students on various aspects of research such as topic selection, literature review, data collection tools and techniques, analysis, findings, conclusions and recommendations. He stressed the importance of proper referencing and explained how project reports can be developed into research papers for reputed journals. The interactive session saw active participation, with students raising queries on research-related issues.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Raveendranath Nayak. It was coordinated by the Research, Ethics and Development Cell comprising Dr. Smitha B. Kamat, Prof. Raveendranath Nayak, Assoc. Prof. Anand Naik Panvelkar, Asst. Prof. Amit Naik, Asst. Prof. Rohit Velip, librarian Sunil Gawas, and administrative staff Mithun Gawas and Pratik Ved. Ms. Rachana Madkaikar compered the programme.
