Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar addressed the gathering at the free eye check-up camp at Poinguinim.
CANACONA: The Lions Club of Canacona (LCC) organised its second free eye check-up camp at Poinguinim on Saturday, helping over 250 villagers. The camp was held at the Disaster Management Shelter, Mahalwada, Poinguinim, in association with the Poinguinim Village Panchayat and Shashwat Sports and Cultural Club, with support from Matoshri Seva Trust, Mumbai.
Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar inaugurated the camp in the presence of Deputy Sarpanch Sunil Paingankar, Panch members Satish Poinginkar and Pravir Bhandari, and members of Shashwat Sports and Cultural Club by lighting the traditional lamp. Over 250 people were screened during the camp, and many received free spectacles worth more than Rs 75,000. The camp was held from 9 am to 4 pm. LCC President Pankaj NaikGaunkar, Secretary Ulhas Phaldessai, Treasurer Dilkush Shet, Zone Chairperson Gourish Vernekar and Lions members Arun Bhat, R S Nayak, Sanjay Desai and Gopichand Vernekar were also present.
