The annual novenas and feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be held from July 7 to July 16 at the Carmelite Monastery, Margao. There will be Vespers prayers every day at 5.30 pm followed by the novena mass at 6 pm and the same timing will apply on the feast day. Priests who will preach the homily during the novenas will be Fr Edson Fernandes, Fr Agnelo Pinheiro, Fr Ashley Alphonso, Fr Tony Fernandes SFX, Fr Kennet Teles, Fr Macson Fernandes, Fr Vital Miranda, Fr Aldrin D’Costa and Fr Albano Fernandes. On the feast day, Fr Alexio Menezes, Parish Priest of St John the Baptist church, Benaulim will be the main celebrant while the theme will be, ‘Bhagevont ankvar Marien kelam toxem, ami Jezuchim pattlavdaram koxim Jezuk govai dium-ia’ (Just as the Blessed Virgin Mary has done, we too as followers of Jesus Christ bear witness to him). The daily morning masses will be as scheduled 6.15 am, English and 7 am, Konkani.
