Percussionist Carlos Gonsalves was felicitated at a Lion's Club event in Mapusa.

Goa’s acclaimed percussionist Carlos Gonsalves was felicitated by the Lions Club of Mapusa on September 24 in recognition of his contribution to music. Gonsalves was presented with a memento by the chief guest at the function, M J F Illyas Rajabali (region chairman president), Lions Club President Pramanand Amonkar, Secretary Uday Nasnodkar and Treasurer Anil Sharma. Gonsalves played the djembe and entertained the audience by singing Mandos and Dulpods, with the people joining in the singing. Illyas Rajabali highlighted the importance of teachers in society and in the development of a child.
As a musician, Gonsalves has performed in different parts of the world and has also played for FC Goa and Royal Challengers.
