Goan artist Sunil Lingu Shirodkar has secured the third prize at the All India Art Competition and Exhibition 2024 (Sixth Edition), organised by the State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad, Telangana. Shirodkar was awarded for his mixed media artwork titled 'Ribs', presented on canvas. Recognised as a self-taught artist, Shirodkar resides in Goa Velha and has developed a distinctive voice in the field of abstract art. In a statement, the organisers praised his creative journey, describing him as “a self-taught visionary whose work reflects the power of passion over formal constraints.” The exhibition is part of an annual initiative that brings together emerging and established artists from across the country, celebrating diversity in contemporary Indian art.
