PANAJI: The Goa Professional League is in a thrilling race for the championship as Sesa FA and Pax of Nagoa secured crucial wins on Friday.

At Benaulim ground, Pax of Nagoa dominated Cortalim Villagers 3-1. Nagoa displayed relentless pressure from the start, with Sherwin Abranches' long-range strike finding the net in the 15th minute. Shubert Pereira doubled their lead just before halftime.

Cortalim refused to surrender, pulling one back through Clive Miranda's header in the 63rd minute. They threatened an equalizer but Nagoa's counter-attack proved decisive. In a solo run, Delton Colaco kept his composure, despite having no support in the face of an onrushing Cortalim keeper, placed the ball in the gap to secure Nagoa’s third goal of the game and the full three points.

Sesa FA consolidated their lead with a narrow 1-0 victory over Vasco SC. Joshua D'Silva's strike in the 72nd minute solidified his position as the league's top scorer with 21 goals.
