PANAJIThe Annual Sports Day cum Prize Distribution function of St Xavier's Institute, Curtorim was held on December 22 at the Curtorim Church Ground. It was filled with the warmth of excited parents, spirited pupils and the enthusiastic staff and management of the school. The theme of the event was, 'Dream, Believe, Achieve'. Chief Guest Maria Anette Susheela De Adriao Furtado, Principal, St Alex HSS, Curtorim declared the meet open in the presence of the Guest of Honour Nevis Teresa Assiz Almeida, retired Headmistress. Curtorim Educational and Welfare Foundation President Mariano Almeida presided over the function. School Managing Committee Chairperson Maria Carma De Mendonça, Manager Melroy D Fernandes and Headmistress Melania Da Costa e Vas were present. Besides the March Past, Mass Drill and the regular sports races, various programmes displayed the all-round talents of the school students. The programme which included the Ring Drill, Saree Drill, Sunflower Drill, Yoga display, Fan Drill, Pyramids and Zumba Performance displayed the courage and fitness of the students. The programme was coordinated by PE Teacher Atmanand Pednekar and compered by Rachel Analise Coelho do Amaral.
