VALPOI: The Vivekananda Environment Awareness Force has launched a 2026 calendar showcasing different butterfly species found in Goa. The calendar was released by Union Minister of State for Power and Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik. It highlights the need to protect butterflies and conserve their natural habitats. Naik praised the organisation for its work in spreading awareness about the environment. He stressed the importance of saving butterflies and their habitats, and urged people to follow sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Each month of the calendar features a different butterfly species, along with simple details about its habitat, key features and conservation status. The calendar is available in limited numbers and can be reserved by nature lovers, students, teachers and researchers. The Vivekananda Environment Awareness Force has appealed to people to book their copies at the earliest.
