With just two days left for polling, the Aam Aadmi Party gave a decisive final push in Navelim, Raia, Velim and Colva as the party significantly scaled up its on-ground outreach, signalling strong confidence going into polling day.
AAP Goa in-charge and former Delhi chief minister Atishi has been stationed in Salcete for nearly two days, actively participating in door-to-door campaigns along with party leaders, MLAs, ZP candidates and volunteers.
Speaking during the campaign, AAP Goa in-charge Atishi said, “We have been campaigning very seriously and our candidates are receiving an extremely encouraging response. The way AAP has taken on the BJP on every issue — corruption, gundaraj, healthcare and livelihoods — clearly shows that AAP is serious about defeating the BJP.”
She added: “So far, AAP has knocked on 1,90,000 doors across Goa. In Salcete, the intensity of door-to-door campaigning has been very high, with multiple rounds in several areas. The way people are welcoming us shows that Goans have accepted AAP as the only credible opposition to the BJP.”
AAP MLA Cruz Silva said voters are choosing work over distractions. “People of Goa, especially in Velim, will ignore all the noise and so-called friendly fights. They will vote for the work done on the ground in the last 3.5 years. Velim will vote to strengthen the fight against the BJP by voting for AAP.”
AAP MLA Venzy Viegas, speaking about Benaulim and Colva, said, “The work done by AAP in Benaulim is a symbol of our commitment to public service. Free clinics, health camps and standing with people when the government failed them — this is AAP’s politics. The people of Benaulim and Colva will strengthen this work by voting for Jhadu and electing honest representatives.”
AAP working president Gerson Gomes, who is personally overseeing the Navelim campaign, strongly attacked the BJP-Congress nexus, exuding confidence that the people will elect AAP candidate Beatris D’Souza.
