Beleaguered investors of an agro corporation on Monday resolved to support the INDIA bloc candidate for South Goa, Viriato Fernandes, saying the BJP has failed to ensure the return of the hard-earned investments since the time of former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar.
The meeting called by Benaulim Aam Admi Party MLA Venzy Viegas at Benaulim on Monday saw the investors adopting a resolution declaring that they and their family members shall all vote for the INDIA bloc candidate.
They said they expect the INDIA candidate to help raise the issue in Parliament to ensure the return of the money of the depositors, pegged at around Rs 100 crore.
Venzy later told the media that the repeated pleas made to the BJP government failed to evoke the desired response from the government. “The investors have decided to sign on a memorandum which will be submitted to the government for action,” he added.
