PANAJI: Goa International Airport, Dabolim, will join airports across the country in observing Yatri Sewa Diwas tomorrow, an initiative of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to enhance passenger facilitation and improve travel experiences.

In a press note issued today, AAI announced several passenger-centric and community activities lined up at Dabolim Airport. Arriving passengers will be greeted with traditional tika and Goan folk dance performances during peak hours, while banners and creatives will be displayed across the terminal highlighting the event. A tree plantation drive will be carried out by senior citizen passengers, and a painting competition for children will be organised at the terminal building and Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, with the artwork displayed at the airport. A photo booth has also been set up at arrivals and departures to allow passengers to click selfies with Yatri Sewa Diwas branding.

In addition, social initiatives have been planned, including a blood donation camp in coordination with the District Hospital, a free health check-up desk at the departure concourse in association with Manipal Hospitals, and free eye check-ups for taxi drivers in coordination with Victor Hospital. Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 will also host a career guidance programme to enlighten students on opportunities in the aviation sector. Passengers will be encouraged to share their suggestions through feedback pamphlets distributed at the airport.

The airport jointly managed by the Indian Navy and AAI, handles around 7.5 million passengers annually and is ranked among the top five AAI-run airports in India. Known for its unique role in managing both international and domestic flights, as well as charter operations, the airport continues to prioritise passenger convenience, safety and satisfaction.
