Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai appealed to the people of Goa, especially the youth, to join the party’s statewide membership drive beginning on May 25, describing it as a call to safeguard Goa’s future and Goemkarponn.
In a hard-hitting address, Sardesai questioned whether Goans are truly happy with the current state of affairs. He pointed to alarming unemployment figures, noting that Goa ranks among the highest in the country in terms of joblessness, with lakhs of educated youth still waiting for opportunities. He alleged that jobs have become a business, subsidies exist only in name, and commission has become the government’s mission.
Sardesai accused the ruling dispensation of being insensitive, arrogant, and ignorant, adding that even people within the ruling party admit to the government’s corruption and failure. He highlighted the rise in murders and violence in once-peaceful Goa, the pollution caused by coal, the forcible execution of double-tracking projects that bulldoze people’s homes, and the large-scale sale of Goan land to outsiders.
He also condemned the government for creating divisions based on religion and caste in a state known for its religious harmony. “For the sake of power, they are even willing to divide people in the name of God,” Sardesai said, adding that many believe such a frightening situation has not been seen since Goa’s liberation.
Sardesai asserted that the Goa Forward Party is the only alternative for those who want to protect Goa’s rights and interests. He emphasised that the party has always believed in the strength and leadership of the youth, and that only Goans themselves can safeguard Goa’s future.
“We must come together in the name of Goa and Goemkarponn. Unity is our greatest weapon,” Sardesai said, inviting people to join the Goa Forward Party family.

“Come, let us unite, let us move forward together, and work hand in hand for Goa’s future. Jai Goa,” Sardesai added.
