Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes stressed that caring for creation is a sacred responsibility and called for promoting sustainable living and ecological awareness while addressing the valedictory function of the Green Guardians certificate course ‘A Lenten Path of Ecological Conversion’ at St Francis Xavier Church, Chicalim, on May 9.
The course was organised by the Salesian Sisters in collaboration with the Diocesan Commission for Ecology and received endorsement from the FABC Office for Human Development and Climate Change Desk. Held in hybrid mode, it saw participation from 115 people from Goa and outside the State.
The programme aimed to promote ecological conversion by combining spirituality, environmental awareness and practical action. Sessions covered eco-spirituality, sustainable development, climate change and environmental laws.
Certificates were presented to participants who completed the course, while awards recognised outstanding assignments and participation.
