“Goa is the land of gods, and embracing spirituality as a way of life would help the people elevate in their search for peace and humanity. There can be many ways of attaining moksha, mukti or nirvana and meditation is one such way. The books written by Brindha Sreekumar on her personal experiences of devotion and meditation will inspire many more and guide them onto this path,” hoped Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai. Pillai was releasing two books authored by Brindha at a function held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.Free meditation camp at Shyama Prasad Stadium tomorrow
PANAJI: The popular meditation guru from South India, Shri Satyamamuni Swamiyal will be conducting Maha Sanjeevani meditation workshop at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium on June 25 at 9.30 am.
Today’s hectic lifestyle is very much in need of peace, happiness and satisfaction. Meditation can offer spiritual health to a person. People are habitual of eating too much and sleeping too much. This brings lethargy to the body and mind and restricts spiritual growth.
Meditation can bring in energy in place of lethargy. This leads to the shedding of bad habits or vices. But people are not aware of the source of energy and have no knowledge of a Guru who can provide guidance on meditation. Looking at these aspects, a free meditation camp has been organised in Goa under the guidance of meditation guru Shri Satyamamuni Swamiyal.
Satyamamuni who is trained in meditation, introduces and teaches the meditation process to others. Explaining what meditation is and how it can be done or who can do it, the Swami says that meditation is a process that enables one to eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that can be crowding one's mind and cause stress. It is all about letting go of stressful or pessimistic thoughts.
"If you spend just a few minutes a day into a more positive place, where you feel relaxed, you naturally think more positively. This is simple meditation for ordinary people and all can try it irrespective of age," says Swami.
The meditation camp is open to people from all walks of life. Those who attend will be offered free food too. Those enthusiastic to learn meditation can register their names on 9284265984, 9011043385, 8999660656 or 9834779908.
