The Goa Staff Selection Commission on Monday issued an advertisement for recruitment of 36 English language teachers in the government primary schools.
Of these 36 posts, 14 posts are reserved for candidates from scheduled tribe communities. Also there are nine posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwDs) and seven for ex-serviceman.
According to the advertisement, the candidates should hold bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent with English as the first language at Secondary and Higher Secondary level, Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) with English teaching methodology.
Knowledge of Marathi is desirable for the post.
The commission has clarified that in case of non-availability of a candidate satisfying the essential requirement, other candidates possessing B.Ed can be appointed, provided that such candidates successfully complete the course designed by the government within a period of five years from the date of appointment.
