The deceased has been identified as Shivdas Vengurlekar, a resident of Mapusa.

According to Vasco Police, Vengurlekar was riding his Honda Activa scooter from Cortalim towards Vasco city when he rammed into a concrete pumping machine that was attached to a Tata Turbo goods carrier parked on the left side of the road, near the Chicalim Post Office.

The impact of the collision caused Vengurlekar to suffer severe bodily injuries. He was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chicalim by a 108 ambulance, but was declared brought dead at the hospital.
