Porvorim police arrested three persons after busting an IPL betting racket and seizing items worth Rs 2.1 lakh.
Porvorim Police conducted a raid on a villa at Socorro between Thursday at 9.55 pm and Friday at 12.30 am and caught three persons red-handed while accepting bets on mobile phones/online for an IPL cricket match played between Delhi Capitals v/s Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The three persons arrested were Vijay Kumar Manwani (45) of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Musa Halim Shaikh (29) from Murshidabad, West Bengal and Sudesh Kumar Kamal Otwani (25) of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Police seized seven mobile phones, one Laptop and other accessories, all worth about Rs 2.1 lakh.
