The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Limited, an AI and cybersecurity company with capabilities in cloud computing, digital infrastructure, enterprise solutions and 5G technologies, to implement and demonstrate next-generation connectivity and entertainment solutions across three railway stations — Madgaon Junction, Ratnagiri, and Udupi.
The MoU was signed on November 18 at Navi Mumbai, marking the formal commencement of this joint initiative.
Under this collaboration, Blue Cloud will showcase its digital products and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services across the identified stations through a phased Proof of Concept (POC) programme. As part of the POC, 5G FWA services along with in-station and in-train entertainment solutions will be deployed and demonstrated for evaluation by KRCL, with the objective of significantly enhancing the digital infrastructure available to passengers and enabling improved access to connectivity, real-time information and high-quality entertainment during their travel experience.
The deployment will further enable both KRCL and Blue Cloud to assess operational feasibility, passenger engagement levels and long-term economic benefits of offering next-generation digital services across railway premises. The POC will also serve as a platform to refine service delivery models, optimise network performance in challenging terrains, and create a scalable blueprint for wider rollout across additional KRCL locations.
KRCL CMD Santhosh Kumar Jha said this partnership with Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Limited aligns perfectly with its commitment to providing world-class services to passengers. “By integrating innovative 5G connectivity and digital entertainment solutions at key stations, we are taking a significant step forward in modernising the Konkan Railway corridor. We anticipate that this collaboration will not only enhance the travel experience but also set a benchmark for technological advancement in the Indian rail sector.”
