Margao officials inspect railway station area for parking solutions

Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, along with officials of various agencies, conducted an inspection of the area at the Aquem side of the Margao railway station to ensure orderly parking of vehicles.

Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar, Salcete Mamlatdar Vimod Dalal, DySP Rajendra Prabhudesai, PI Sanjay Dalvi, Margao PI Suraj Samant, besides Konkan Railway Corporation senior officer Baban Ghatge, were amongst the officials that were part of the team that inspected the entire area.

After the inspection, the Margao MLA told the media that steps have been initiated to provide orderly parking for the taxis, rickshaws, and pilots in the area. He said the parking area will be provided with sheds as part of the measures.

The Margao MLA also fielded questions on the sewerage infrastructure in the city, saying that the authorities are presently on the job to replace the line near the STP, Sirvodem. Once completed, he said the new line will provide relief to the residents who have been affected by the backflow of sewage.

The Margao MLA further made an appeal to the people of Margao to take sewerage connections, pointing out that the government has streamlined payment of fees towards sewage connections.
