PANAJI: Goa Police have registered a case of alleged forgery after a 29-year-old man was found entering Dabolim International Airport using counterfeit flight tickets.

The accused, identified as Manuel Kavin D’Souza from Sancoale, reportedly accessed the airport premises on Tuesday afternoon by presenting the fake tickets to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the entry gate. According to a police official, the tickets appeared valid until they were submitted at the airline counter, where it was discovered they were fraudulent.

D’Souza was allegedly carrying tickets for an Air India flight from Goa to Mumbai, followed by Qatar Airways flights from Mumbai to Doha and onward to Barcelona.

During questioning, D’Souza told police he had unknowingly purchased the tickets from a travel agency, claiming he was unaware they were forged.

Police have booked the case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for cheating and forgery. While no arrest has been made yet, investigations are underway.
