Dedicated work gangs, vehicles deployed

The Margao Municipal Council has undertaken special arrangements for desilting of drains, removal of silt/debris, clearing of bushes and other monsoon-related works within the municipal jurisdiction.
For this purpose, dedicated work gangs, transportation vehicles and supervisory staff have been deployed wardwise to ensure timely and coordinated completion of works.
Municipal Engineers, Sanitary Inspectors, Supervisors, workers, drivers and designated vehicles have also been placed on rotational monsoon emergency duty on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during the monsoon season, particularly to attend to complaints relating to waterlogging, flooding, choking of drains, obstruction of storm-water flow, tree falls and other monsoon-related emergencies.
The concerned Municipal Engineers and supervisory staff have been directed to remain available during duty hours, coordinate with the Sanitation Section, Vehicle Section and field staff, and ensure immediate response wherever urgent intervention is required.
The Vehicle Section has also been instructed to keep the designated vehicles in roadworthy condition with adequate fuel for emergency deployment.
The general public is requested to promptly report monsoon-related grievances, including choking of drains, waterlogging, obstruction of flow of storm water, accumulation of silt/debris, tree falls or similar emergencies, to the concerned officials.
