The State government on Tuesday announced that admissions to engineering colleges in Goa will no longer be based on the Goa Common Entrance Test as GCET will not be conducted from the academic year 2024-25.
In a communiqué, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) centralised admission division said all admissions to engineering colleges in the State will now be based on JEE Main scores.
Presently, admissions to engineering courses in the State are based on GCET.
“GCET will not be conducted from the academic year 2024-25. Admissions to BE (Engineering) degree courses in the State of Goa for the academic year 2024-25 will be carried out on basis of JEE Main 2024 scores”, states the DTE notice.
It also said, admissions to B. Pharm (Pharmacy) Degree courses in Goa for the academic year 2024-25 will be carried out on basis of best aggregate percentile marks scored in Physics and Chemistry subject at either NEET or JEE Main conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in 2024 scores.
All students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences (Paramedical), BSc in Nursing & BVSc & AH courses in Goa in academic year 2024-25 will be required to appear and qualify at NEET UG-2024 (National Entrance cum Eligibility Test).
The notice further states that admission to B.Arch course shall be on the basis of scores obtained at NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by Council of Architecture and qualifying exam (Std. XIlth/HSSC/ Diploma).
