The Fr Freddy J Da Costa memorial Trust on Tuesday installed the plaque of the Cardinal Valerian Gracias Road at Dramapur.
The program was held on Tuesday in commemoration of Cardinal Valerian’s 68th anniversary of the anointment of the college of Cardinals.
The Cardinal Valerian Gracias Road starts from the Highway at Dramapur to the interior village leading to St Joseph’s Church, Dramapur.
After unveiling the plaque, Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo recalled the contribution of Cardinal Gracias for the entire humanity. “Cardinal Gracias was not just a Priest, but he had worked for humanity. His work in setting up educational institutions and medical colleges in Mumbai and other parts of the country shows his love for the society, irrespective of caste and creed,” Michael said.
Complimenting Fr Freddy J Da Costa Memorial Trust for taking the initiative in naming the road after Cardinal Gracias, Velim MLA and Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues said the initiative will help the young generation to emulate the qualities and achievements of Cardinal Gracias.
