The Crime Branch has arrested Zohair Ahmed Khalidi, the second key suspect in an international human trafficking racket involving foreign nationals.
He was traced through a UPI account used to collect payments from clients and was held in Bengaluru. The case began after a Kenyan woman complained on March 3 that she was lured to India with a hotel job offer but forced into prostitution.
She alleged Nancy King’ori, a fellow Kenyan, took her passport and earnings. King’ori was arrested on March 13.
Investigators found the victim had been given a UPI ID and QR code for payments, leading to Khalidi.
He is now being brought to Goa for questioning.
Police believe he is part of a wider trafficking network operating across several states.
