South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes has said that while Congress has won in Kerala and the TVK in Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission of India has won in West Bengal and Assam.
He said the election results showed that the Congress will have to pull up its socks in Goa to take on the BJP and the Election Commission in the 2027 Assembly election.
Commenting on the election results, the Congress South Goa MP said the Congress has returned to power in Kerala. “The result in Tamil Nadu is a little bit shocking since the TVK has got a majority of seats. As far as West Bengal and Assam are concerned, it is evident the Election Commission of India has won in the two states,” he said.
Saying that the election results pose a challenge to the Congress in Goa in the upcoming polls, the MP underscored the need for the party to pull up its socks and gear up for the upcoming Assembly election to take on the BJP and ECI. “The ECI had won the 2024 Lok Sabha election and now the Election Commission has won the Assembly elections in Assam and Bengal,” he added.
