The Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police is investigating a complaint that alleges an impersonator duped a real estate firm of Rs 9.28 lakh approx on the pretext of supplying furniture for its office.
As per the FIR, Vinay Albuquerque, Director having office at Alcon Real Estate Pvt Ltd, alleged that accused persons with their common intention impersonated employees from one Pilar Boli Furniture Company. The impersonators thereafter induced the complainant to purchase furniture from their company during their online communication.
“For supply of furniture, terracotta items, shell items, gazebo, etc. the accused made him transfer USD 11,000 (Rs 9,28,184) into the bank accounts as “PT Bank Nagora Indonesia". The incident occurred this month,” reads the information shared by the police.
A case under various sections of the IPC and IT Act has been registered even as the accused have not been traced or arrested so far.
