The State government on Thursday appointed senior town planner RK Pandita as the Chief Town Planner (Land Use) and head of the Town and Country Planning department with immediate effect.
The government has also appointed senior town planner Vertika Dagur as the Chief Town Planner (Admin and Planning) apart from handling her own duties.
The post of Chief Town Planner – Land Use, had fallen vacant as on April 30, following suspension of Rajesh Naik, who was serving service extension.
The order of appointment has been issued by Under Secretary (Personnel) Durga Kinlekar.
“RK Pandita, senior town planner, Town and Country Planning department, shall hold the charge of the post of Chief Town Planner (Land Use) declared as Head of Department, with immediate effect, in addition to his own duties and until further orders,” the order stated.
It further states, “Vertika Dagur, senior town planner, shall hold charge of Chief Town Planner (Admin) and Chief Town Planner (Planning) with immediate effect, in addition to her own duties and until further orders.”
Naik was suspended on the last day of his extension “with immediate effect” in connection with the alleged underassessment of fees for land conversion under Section 17(2) of the TCP Act, causing loss of crores to the exchequer.
