The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls, which focuses on Goa-centric issues.

The manifesto was released by St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar, RGP President and North Goa candidate Manoj Parab, South Goa candidate Rubert Pereira, party treasurer Ajay Kholkar, Vishvesh Naik and North Goa president Gaurish Mandrekar.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Borkar informed that RGP is the only party that fights for the cause of Goa and Goans.

“At the grass root level as well as in the villages, the RGP members are taking up various issues affecting Goa and Goans,” Borkar informed while stating that RGP is the only party in the State that has fought for the rights of Goans.

Borkar also chided that the other political parties like Congress and BJP only work as agents of the Central government, due to which they have failed to raise any issue affecting Goa and Goans.

Among the issues that are highlighted in the manifesto include preservation of Mhadei River, opposition to the establishment of a coal hub, safeguarding Goa’s identity and land, addressing issue of uncontrolled migrant influx, ensuring safety and empowerment of women, upholding livelihood of Persons of Goan Origin, advocating for the Constitutional rights of Scheduled Tribes, and pursuing the cause of dual citizenship.

The other assurances in the manifesto include judicious use of MPLAD funds for transformative development with a focus on community skilling centres, infrastructure for micro-entrepreneurs, sports facilities, clean drinking water, etc.
