The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday as Seva Diwas, with a series of programmes across the State till October 2.

BJP State president Damu Naik, speaking at a press conference on Monday, said the celebration will include health camps, blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, cultural programmes, seminars, exhibitions and outreach activities. These will be organised at booth, district and State levels, with senior leaders, MPs and MLAs taking part.

The events will start on September 17, the day PM Modi turns 75, with blood donation camps. From September 17 to 24, cleanliness drives will be held. Health camps will take place at primary and community health centres, while seminars will focus on the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

On September 25, an exhibition on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya will be inaugurated. Other activities will include the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, promotion of local products under Vocal for Local, and cultural programmes on Atmanirbhar Bharat and Developed India.

The celebration will conclude on October 2 with floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries.

Naik said the programmes reflect the Prime Minister’s vision of service, self-reliance and development. “PM Modi has put India on the global map through his tireless efforts. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee also worked with the same vision to uplift the nation. We will mark PM Modi’s birthday with activities that serve people and strengthen India’s resolve for progress,” he said.
