Burglars broke into a flat on the third floor of the Nutan Niwas building near MES college junction at Dabolim.
According to residents, the burglars broke open the window grills and entered the flat.

The burglars were armed with crowbars and rods and residents found the crowbar and rods on the terrace of the building.
"The burglars were familiar with the area and knew exactly that this flat was empty for a long time. We are not sure what they must have stolen as the owner is not here. We have intimated him and he will reach on Monday," said a resident in the building.
Added another resident: "They were two of them and my father who gets up early saw them jump from the fence with some items wrapped in a cloth. My father alerted other residents and we also notified the police."
"The police visited the site and pressed sniffer dogs and fingerprint experts into service, but a case wasn't registered as the flat owner is not here.'
When contacted, Edward Fernandes, president of Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association, informed The Goan that new houses and complexes have been coming up in Vidyanagar.
"Several migrant labourers who work on these projects are seen moving around in Vidyanagar. There have been several cases of burglaries reported in various colonies of Vidyanagar. Residents of Vidyanagar had demanded for round-the-clock police patrolling in Vidyanagar, but we regret that police have not taken patrolling seriously," said Fernandes.
"The PCR vehicle is frequently seen parked only at the junction near IOB. Around two years ago, the Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association had requested for a police outpost at Vidyanagar, because of rapid growth in the area but so far, no action has been initiated in this respect," said Fernandes.
"We appeal to authorities, including our MLA, to look into these matters and take positive action at the earliest," Fernandes added.
