After over a month of unsuccessful search for the alleged rapist, the Old Goa police have recently submitted a proposal to the District Court to issue a lookout circular against the accused.
The incident involves the man, who’s charged with raping his underage daughter on numerous occasions and forcing her to undergo abortions at least four times till she finally confided in a friend and thereafter to her school counsellor.
“The accused is nowhere to be found in Goa or at his native in North India. It has partially hampered the investigation and therefore, we have approached the Court for issuing a lookout circular against him,” said a senior officer.
This is the same case wherein three police stations - Women PS, Agassaim and Old Goa PS – came under intense criticism for forcing the victim girl to run from pillar to post to get her case registered in April. The delay purportedly facilitated the accused to escape to an unknown location.
