Why do people like killing celebrities off again and again? This time around Rowan Atkinson who is famous for his role as comic character Mr Bean has found himself victim of a death hoax. Not sure why they like killing off a fun character like Mr Bean but this isn't the first time that the actor has fallen prey to this kind of hoax. Here's a look at some other celebrities who have been victim to this prank but are still very much alive

Carlos Santana

In September last year, CBC journalist shocked everybody by tweeting that Santana had been found dead in his car by a family member, adding that he had got the information from a reliable source. The rumour was put to rest when a Facebook post appeared stating that musician was infact alive and well. Walker later gave a feeble explanation stating that he had been referring to a different Santana.

Jackie Chan

The martial arts superstar has fallen victim of a death hoax on more than one occasion. In March 2011, the star was rumored to have passed away from a heart attack, prompting his reps to post a note to his Facebook page to dispel the rumors. Months later, a Facebook page title “RIP Jackie Chan” sprung up online, causing Twitter to light up with speculation that Chan had died. As if that was not enough, Chan was targetted again in 2013.

Cher

Kim Kardaishan was one of the many who was totally taken in by the prank when RIP Cher began trending on Twitter in 2012. After a phony tweet pretended to retweet a CNN statement that the Oscar winner had been found dead in her Malibu home, Kardashian tweeted, “Did I just hear Cher has passed away? Is this real? OMG.”

Eminem

Even Slim Shady was not sparred when he was said to have perished in a car accident in 2000 with photos even showing the wreckage of his fatal crash. In 2013 again, a Faebook post showing a gory image of a man supposed to be Eminem getting stabbed began doing the rounds. His rep later issued a statement to deny the rumors, noting, “He remains unstabbed.”

Tom Hanks

In 2006, a rumour began doing the rounds that actor Tom Hanks fell off a cliff while shooting for his latest film and passed away. The actor however was very much alive and in Canda at the time.
