Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa, St Ann's High School, Tivim, LD Samant Memorial High School, Porvorim and Shri Vasant Vidyalaya, Siolim moved into the second round of the Bardez Taluka Inter School football tournament for under-14 boys organised by DYSA.

On the inaugural day of the tournament played at Assanora Sports Complex ground, Assonora, Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa blanked Little Flower of Jesus High School, Calangute 5-0. Soham A netted a brace while Swayam N, Vipul N and Parthiv N scored a goal each for the Mapusa school.
In the second match, St Ann's High School, Tivim got the better of St Xavier's High School, Moira via tie-breaker 2-1 after a goalless draw in regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Karan T and Vishal R scored for the Tivim school while Yuvraj scored the only goal for the
Moira team.
Earlier in the day, LD Samant Memorial HS, Porvorim and Shri Vasant Vidyalaya, Siolim got a walkover as their opponent schools, The Ardee School, Sangolda and Mater Dei Institute, Saligao respectively withdrew their entries prior to the start of the tournament.
Lavino Rebello, Adv Domnic Pereira from GFA and Bardez TSO Anant Sawal were present to wish all the teams on the inaugural day of the tournament.
