MARGAO
The newly-elected Dramapur-Sirlim panchayat had its first gram sabha meeting on Sunday.
The meeting held on Sunday was chaired by newly-elected sarpanch Avita Pereira and attended by the panchas and gram sabha members.
Though not many items were listed on the meeting agenda, some of the members raised the issue of rumblers erected on national highway 66. Members pointed out the difficulties faced by the people over the erection of the rumbler sticks on the hot-mixed National Highway 66.
Gram sabha members wondered whether the rumbler sticks erected by the NH conform to the laid down specification, more so concerning the ones laid at the Dramapur bus stop and Jakhniband.
Sarpanch Avita informed that the issue will be placed before the panchayat for discussion before taking further decision.
The sarpanch pointed out that the condition of the road passing through her ward, which has been lying in bad shape, was raised by her at the meeting.
