Over the last few weeks, EDM lovers across Goa were only talking about Eric Prydz and his impending visit to Pune for an EDM festival. From making plans to head to Pune to convincing their friends not to miss this, Eric Prydz sent the trends blazing on social media.

This all started when festival curator, Nikhil Chinapa shared the story of how his team managed to get the Swedish house music legend to India for the three day Supersonic festival. Dance music enthusiasts all the country were left in a frenzy as Prydz's headlining act at the inaugural day of the festival was not just his first performance in India but also marked his debut in Asia.

Fans were talking about how they fell in love with the DJ and producer's first hit hit - Call On Me – a single that that was co-written and recorded by the DJ and producer and that topped several record charts (The signature line was borrowed from a classic rock track called Valerie). He is also the first ever artist to be given the green light to sample Pink Floyd; the massive remix of Another Brick In The Wall achieved great commercial success.

As a solo artist, the DJ-producer has headlined, and sold out some of the world's most renowned venues including Madison Square Garden, Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace. He has earned multiple Grammy nominations and topped charts with his alter-ego monikers Pryda and Cirez D. Known for his breathtaking show production skills that have created waves worldwide, his India tour is against the backdrop of the release of his much-awaited debut album Opus. Fans in Goa, who are still raving about his spectacular show, swear that they have not seen anything like this in their lifetime.

I've played with Eric before in 2014 at the Global Gathering festival in the UK, with The Prodigy live. You'll always find an Eric Prydz record in every one of my sets. I have always been a die-hard fan from day one and I've even got his music on vinyl. The one thing that Eric does remarkably well is his ability to make music that sounds incredibly simple, and truth be told that's the hardest thing to do. He has mastered that art. In each record, he builds tension in his own unique distinct way, in my opinion that's his signature. You'll find everyone from the music production industry refer to Eric's work as the pinnacle. Bringing him to India is nothing short of massive and especially with his fear of flying, in my opinion this is the most important booking India has done in the last 5 years.

I first started following and playing his music in 2004 when he released a track called Call on Me. His music style has changed since then but trust me it's only got better. As soon as it was announced that Prydz was going to be playing in Pune, it was a wow moment for dance music fans across India and social media has been full of posts about his first visit to India. Like Nikhil Chinappa said, it's taken him 10 years of chasing to finally get him to play a gig in India and this is understandable as Eric Prydz is wanted worldwide and everyone knows it will be a long time before he comes back to play in India.

Taking India into consideration, Eric Prydz has a huge fan following. Just go on social media and you can see how there so much hype and excitement about the fact that Eric Prydz has played in India for the first time. Personally, I'm a a great fan and I've watched a couple of his sets and each and every show of his has been amazing. I could not have been more excited to watch him live in Pune and he killed it.

It's incredible that Eric Prydz has finally come to India. I've never had the opportunity to catch him live and the experience of watching Eric Prydz play live in India for the first time was insane for the EDM enthusiasts in Goa! When any artist visits the country for the first time - the feeling of being one of the first in the country to hear the artist play, is simply out of this world. With Eric Prydz coming in, the Indian EDM scene has gone to the next level.

This is insanely massive. It is actually very difficult to get over that fear of flying but Eric Prydz managed to deal with it and finally few across to India. I heard his famous track and my favourite Call on me, when I was in the fourth standard and now I got to watch him live and that feeling is indescribable. This was an incredible moment and I will cherish it for the rest of my life.

If you love trance and progressive house, you will love Eric Prydz aka Pryda. I love the tracks Generate and Opus from his recent album. They are so symphonic and slow-cresting that you just cannot wait until the beat drops. I'm so excited that he finally came to India and I'm sure it was a delight for all those who have never heard him before. I wish I could have been there but sadly, it doesn't happen in Goa anymore.

Aishwarya Krishnan, social media executive

Eric Prydz is pretty established in the EDM world with global recognition and people were ecstatic when they first heard the announcement. He has a huge fan following in India and some of my closest friends are crazy about him. There was much of enthusiasm about his visit that a huge number of Goans have travelled to Pune for this. I like his genres of music and I would have loved to attend it in person but sadly it's not happening in Goa anymore.
