Goa to have IPL Fan Park

Event to be held on May 21 and 22 at GCA ground, Porvorim

The IPL Fan Park, an initiative of BCCI where the Indian Premier League matches are screened live in a few cities is set to be a star attraction in Goa on May 21 and 22. The non-ticketed event and free for all, IPL fans will be hosted at Kota, Patna and Guntur apart from Goa on the aforesaid dates. The venue opens to general public starting 3 pm to 12 am at the selected cities.

These cities will screen the following four matches over the coming weekend – Rising Pune Supergiants vs Kings XI Punjab at 4 pm and Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Lions at 8 pm on Saturday, May 21, and Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at 4 pm and Delhi Daredevils vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at 8 pm on Saturday, May 22.

In the State, the event will be held at the Goa Cricket Association ground in Porvorim. The main highlight of which will be the 32’x18’ LED on which the cricket match will be screened live for the audience. The event arena will also see fan engagement stalls by IPL, its sponsors and the participating franchisees. This also includes a dedicated merchandising area. There will be food and beverage stalls selling their products at economic rates.

The event arena is open to kids as well as families. A special zone for kids’ entertainment will also be part of the event. There will be live music played at the fall of wicket, or even when a boundary or six is hit by the batsmen. This will also include the traditional IPL hooter and respective team anthems.

New technology games will be set up where kids and family can play for free. Bowling machine games will be installed to play and feel the experience of cricket. Various gifts will be distributed at the time of innings. Team jerseys and bats with players’ signatures will be given in a lucky draw.

Over 40,000 fans have experienced the thrill of the VIVO IPL Fan Park around the country. Fans from various age groups had a gala time as some awesome matches were screened over the last weekend.
