Goa’s first charter flight of the 2025–26 tourist season arrived from Almaty, Kazakhstan at Dabolim Airport on Saturday, signalling the start of the new travel season. The SCAT Airlines flight (VSV5212) landed at around 5.30 am with tourists looking to experience Goa’s culture, cuisine, and attractions beyond the beaches.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the arrival of the first charter underlined Goa’s improving international connectivity and its appeal as a global destination. He stated that the government is working to expand the charter network and widen international source markets while keeping sustainability at the core of tourism planning.

Tourism Director Kedar Naik said each charter flight adds to Goa’s visibility as a preferred leisure destination.

To mark the inaugural arrival, the Department of Tourism, along with Concord Exotic Voyages and the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), organised a traditional welcome that included a brass band performance, garlands, and a cake-cutting ceremony.

More international charter arrivals are expected in the coming weeks as the season progresses.
